WHAT TO EXPECT

What Happens When You Reach Out

We know that making this call — or filling out this form — is not easy. Most people who contact us have been carrying something heavy for a long time. Our admissions team is trained to meet people where they are, without judgment and without pressure.

Here is what a typical first contact looks like:

A real conversation, not a script. Your first call with our admissions team is a genuine conversation about what’s happening and what you’re looking for. We listen before we talk.

Honest information about fit. We will tell you whether ViewPoint is the right fit for your situation. If we’re not, we’ll say so and point you toward who is. We don’t take clients we can’t serve well.

Insurance verification handled for you. If you’re interested in moving forward, we verify your insurance benefits directly and walk you through exactly what your plan covers before any commitment is made.

No pressure, no timeline. The decision about whether and when to pursue treatment belongs to you and your family. Our job is to give you accurate information and answer your questions — not to push you toward a decision.

Most families tell us that the first call was less difficult than they expected. We hope the same is true for you.

FOR REFERRING PROFESSIONALS

Referring a Client to ViewPoint

ViewPoint accepts referrals from psychiatrists, therapists, hospitals, and other treatment providers. If you are a clinician or case manager considering a referral, our admissions and clinical team is available to discuss the case directly — including clinical suitability, level of care, and coordination of care details.

We take complex referrals seriously. If you are considering referring a client with a high-acuity presentation — treatment-resistant schizophrenia, rapid-cycling bipolar, severe dual diagnosis, or first-episode psychosis — please call us directly so we can talk through the case with you.

FAQS

Common Questions Before Reaching Out

Yes. All communications with ViewPoint’s admissions team are completely confidential and HIPAA compliant. Nothing you share with us is disclosed to anyone without your explicit written authorization. Reaching out does not create any record that affects your insurance, your employment, or anything else.
That’s exactly the kind of call we get regularly. You don’t need to have made a decision to reach out. Our admissions team is genuinely here to help you think through the situation — including whether treatment is the right next step and, if so, what level of care makes sense. There is no pressure to move forward.
You can still call. Many of our most important conversations are with family members who are trying to understand what options exist before their loved one is ready to engage. We can talk through the situation, discuss what intervention options look like, and help you be better prepared when the moment comes.
Admissions timelines depend on several factors: insurance verification, clinical assessment, and current bed availability. In many cases, we can move quickly — within a few days of initial contact. If the situation is urgent, tell us that when you call and we will prioritize accordingly.
No. You can contact ViewPoint directly without a physician referral. We conduct our own clinical assessment as part of the admissions process. That said, if you are working with a psychiatrist or therapist, we are happy to coordinate with them as part of the admissions process.
